These MSCA-Doctoral Newtork (DN) projects, announced by the European Commission, will allow 5 young researchers to carry out their PhD thesis at ICMAB in exciting topics related to materials science. 

Doctor Márta Kubovics from the Solid State Chemistry (SSC) group at ICMAB-CSIC, defended her PhD thesis "Supercritical CO₂ assisted preparation of mesoporous composites for emerging applications" on Friday, 17 March 2023 at ICMAB. 

Doctor Marc Martínez from the Nanomol-Bio group at ICMAB-CSIC, defended his PhD thesis "Nanoparticles to modulate topography and ligand distribution at the nanoscale: impact on cell behavior" on Thursday, 9 March 2023 at ICMAB. 

M. Rosa Palacín, ICMAB researcher, is one of the 12 women scientists showcased in this campaign by the Catalan Government to visibilize women in science and technology. 

In line with the International Women’s Day 2023, the Royal Society of Chemistry highlights some of the excellent female researchers publishing impactful work in materials science in a special collection. 

In this edition there is a special prize for stories about Archaeology. Texts of a maximum of 800 words can be sent, in the young or adult category, and in Spanish, Catalan, Galician or Basque. The deadline for receipt of stories is June 4, 2023.

On Wednesday, 8 March 2023, International Women's Day, we received students of 4th course of primary school of the Escola Ítaca who are doing a project on sand.

The PoC Training Program takes place at the Eureka building of the UAB Research Park. 14 participants from ICMAB attend it and 6 from the UAB.

ICMAB researchers have developed an electrochemical sensor to detect water pollutants in-field with no need of pre-processing the sample.
