The European Researcher's Night is a public event dedicated to the dissemination of science that is held every year in more than 300 cities in 30 countries of Europe at the same time. Its aim is to bring research and its protagonists closer to the public of all ages and to make research and innovation known in a simple and fun way.
Every year, this event is held on the last Friday of September, although its popularity extends during the previous days and the weekend. This edition, however, due to the exceptional situation we are experiencing and because we have the necessary preparation time, the event has been postponed for two months and will take place on 27-28 November 2020.
For the same reason, the program has been modified according to the new guidelines and precautionary measures taken by the authorities and participating entities. Thus, this year includes a large number of online activities, both live and pre-recorded, which can be followed through the official
Youtube channel of the Researchers' Night in Catalonia or through video conference platforms on 27 and 28 November, according to the specifications of each activity, which can be consulted on the website. In any case, the format of the activities will be subject to the indications set by the authorities and it is possible to modify part of the program until a few days before the event.
The in-person activities offered by the program will take place in different locations in each of the main nodes: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, Tarragona and Vic. At the Barcelona node, you can enjoy the Young Researchers' Night at CosmoCaixa and the various activities organized by Pessics de Ciència in collaboration with the City Council of Hospitalet de Llobregat.
The
Researchers' Night in Catalonia also collaborates with the rest of the Nights in Spain, carrying out collaborative activities prior to the event, such as the talk
