The Sociedad Española de Materiales’ mission is the union of all the entities that work within this field in Spain, encouraging collaboration within the community and with Europe. They promote and spread the national research in the fields of science, engineering and materials’ technology through different actions, like the SOCIEMAT Awards.

This year's edition has 3 different awards:

• SOCIEMAT Award for Scientific Dissemination and Education in Materials, which rewards innovative actions in education or social dissemination activities in science and materials’ technology.
• SOCIEMAT Award Best Final Master's Thesis in Materials Science,  for those thesis that have already been defended. The Jury will value both the scientific and technological value of the Thesis as well as its oral presentation.
• SOCIEMAT Prize Fundación Caja de Ingenieros Best Final Degree Project in Materials Engineering, for those Final Degree Projects that have already been defended. The Jury will value the scientific and technological value of the Project.

There are many prizes, including a 600€ cash prize, or a trip to participate in the FEMS Best Master Thesis Award.
