Why did you choose ICMAB for your PhD?

I found the PhD offer (DOCFAM) by chance in a website.

How would you explain your research to a non-scientific audience?

We are preparing porous composites, with large surface area and interesting textural properties using supercritical CO₂ for the synthesis. These materials are tested in different applications in a wide range of fields, for example in catalysis, drug delivery or cancer treamtent.

What are the main applications of your research? Could you give us an example?

The main applications are in methanol production via CO₂ hydorgantion, photocatalytic hydorgen production, drug delivery, or cancer treatment.

What will you miss the most from ICMAB?

I will stay around a little bit more at ICMAB, but when I leave I will miss the people in ICMAB.

How do you think this experience will contribute to your training and to your future?

All the things that I learned and experienced will for sure help me in my future positions.

What are your plans once you finish your PhD?

I will stay around for some months in ICMAB. Then I will probably look for work at the industry, either pharmaceutical o chemical.

Why did you become a scientist? Who have been your role models?

I never planned to do a PhD, I just took an opportunity that came to do a PhD in a foreign country.

I don't really have favourite scientists.
